GENERAL INTRODUCTION OF FISHINE SCIENCE
1. Development history
The Faculty of Fisheries was newly established in March 2015, on the basis of separation from the old Faculty of Livestock and Aquaculture. Derived from the Department of Fisheries (2004), under the Specialized Livestock Department - the former Faculty of Livestock and Aquaculture, the Department of Aquaculture was established. Not long after that, the department took over training in Aquaculture. Facing the development needs of the fisheries industry and expanding the training scale of the school with a new major, Aquatic Pathology (2011), the Department of Environment and Aquatic Diseases was established in 2012. By 2015, Faculty of Fisheries was established with the task of developing the scale of training, scientific research and technology transfer, to meet the development needs of Vietnam's seafood industry in general and the North's seafood industry in particular. Hitherto, Faculty of Fisheries has developed and expanded with 3 subjects: Aquaculture; Environment and aquatic diseases; Nutrition and Aquatic feed.

2. Mission function
The main task of the Faculty is to train high-quality human resources at various levels to serve research and technology transfer programs to develop the country's fisheries and fisheries, especially is the northern region of Vietnam. Khoa has long excelled in activities and is considered as a leader in fisheries and fisheries in the region.
Undergraduate training in Aquaculture, Aquatic Pathology.
Conduct research on aquaculture techniques, water environment, aquatic organisms, aquatic resource management, and application of biotechnology in aquaculture.
Transfer of technical advances to farmers and production facilities, serving the development of aquaculture and fishing in the Red River Delta and surrounding areas such as transferring fish farming technology Commercial black carp; commercial softshell turtle.
The Faculty has successfully researched and made many scientific advances that are very effective in production in the fisheries sector such as: Techniques for artificial reproduction of river loach, techniques for diagnosis, prevention and treatment of diseases of some species. shrimp and fish...
3. Human resources and training scale
Currently, the total number of staff of the Faculty of Fisheries is 24 people, including 6 associate professors; 10 doctorates; 4 PhD students; 13 masters. The Faculty has 18 teaching staff and 3 technicians.
The Faculty of Fisheries is currently in charge of training two specialties: Aquaculture and Aquatic Pathology. In 2015, the faculty started to open a master's program. Therefore, the faculty currently has a total of about 300 undergraduate students and 20 graduate students. On the momentum of development, the training plan of the Faculty of Fisheries in the coming years is to expand the specialized training program in aquatic preservation and processing. In addition, a doctoral training program will also be opened to meet the demand for high-quality human resources for Vietnam's aquaculture industry.
4. Facilities: Faculty of Fisheries manages a land area of 16.4 ha, of which:
Office facilities: The newly built faculty in Chi Trung - Trau Quy - Gia Lam - Hanoi area provides full rooms, computers and other facilities for staff to work.
Laboratory: Currently, the faculty has 6 modern equipped laboratories for teaching and scientific research.
Experimental production farm: The Faculty is building two large-scale experimental producers - belonging to the freshwater breeding center - Faculty of Fisheries. The experimental producer has a full system of large and small tanks, biological filtration systems, artificial spawning systems, hot and cold water systems, etc., which can best serve the seed production.
System of experimental ponds: Currently, the Faculty of Fisheries is in charge of managing and using 13 large and small ponds, including 2 settling ponds and storage ponds; 8 implementation of experimental model, demonstration, rearing between broodstock and seed production.
