DEPARTMENT OF AQUATIC ENVIRONMENTS
Development history
Faced with the growing demand for human resource training for Vietnam's fisheries sector, the Department was re-established in October 2004 on the basis of a group of aquatic subjects under the Specialized Department of Livestock Production - Faculty of Livestock and Animal Husbandry. aquaculture in the past. This is the core subject of the fisheries industry. Currently, the Department has 8 staff members, including 7 teaching staff and 1 technician. Currently, the Department has 03 PhDs, 04 Masters, 2 PhD students studying in Europe and 02 Engineers. The Department of Aquaculture undertakes a total of 20 subjects in the training program. In which, there are mainly technical and specialized subjects of the industry such as: Freshwater fish farming techniques, Crustacean farming techniques, marine fish farming techniques... In addition, the Department also teaches the subject of Cultivation. General Fisheries (TS03710) for students of other majors such as Environment, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Medicine,
Besides teaching, the Department also actively participates in scientific research, implementing projects at the Academy and Ministry levels. Currently, the Department is actively conducting research on reproduction, artificial seed production and raising economic fish species such as river chameleon, black carp, sea bream, etc. Construction, consulting and construction of systems freshwater and brackish water aquaculture. The members of the department regularly participate in the professional consultation of the topic selection councils of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development; Hanoi Department of Science and Technology. In addition to the working rooms, the Department also has laboratory systems to conduct research and experiments as well as meet the practical needs of all subjects.
