DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENT AND AQUATIC DISEASE
Development history
The Department of Environment and Aquatic Diseases was established in April 2012, under the Faculty of Animal Husbandry and Aquaculture, now under the Faculty of Fisheries. The Department of Environment and Aquatic Diseases is responsible for training students based on the development needs of the fisheries industry in general as well as the school's future construction and development plans in particular, especially when the Faculty was assigned to specialize in Aquatic Pathology since 2011.
Subjects taught by the department
Currently with 6 teaching staff (1 Associate Professor, 02 PhD, 03 MSc) and 1 technician, most of them are young staff who have worked as PhD students, masters or are pursuing graduate studies in countries like the UK. , Denmark, Australia, Belgium, Japan, Germany. Currently, the department is undertaking and teaching 20 subjects to specialize in Aquatic Pathology, Aquaculture and teaching related subjects for industries such as Technical and Environmental Pedagogy, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Medicine and Biotechnology.
Outstanding Achievements
The Department of Environment and Aquatic Diseases has been actively participating in many scientific research and technology transfer activities at home and abroad, many international cooperation projects such as the Mekarn project with Sweden, the project cooperation with Australia to limit disease on farmed fish in the northern mountainous provinces of Vietnam . The department has also been undertaking a number of projects from the Ministry of Education and Training, many cooperation projects with localities such as Hai Duong Department of Science and Technology, Hung Yen, Yen Bai, Son La, Thai Nguyen, Lao Cai .. to develop. models of local specialties. The department also actively organizes many short-term vocational training programs for farmers, vocational training programs through the media, organizes many academic exchange activities, conferences at home and abroad. The department has participated in guiding many groups of students in scientific research to win high prizes such as the first prize at the faculty level, the third prize at the school level, the consolation prize of the Vietnam Science and Technology Association Vifotex, the third prize for young scientific talents. 2014 students.
In addition, professional consulting is also a great strength of the Department of Environment and Aquatic Diseases. Department officials and lecturers participated in consulting activities for FSPSII projects in Quang Ninh, Hue, Son La, Lao Cai, Dak Lak... in the fields of Aquatic Diseases, Fisheries Extension, Aquaculture, Security food safety and also tender to successfully complete the Transport of Live Aquatic Animals of the POSMA component. Participating in consulting for the Agricultural Extension program organized by the National Agricultural Extension Center, consulting for farmers through the VTC16 communication channel. The department has also done projects on rural assessment with the participation of the community, community assessment with the participation of people, and fisheries resource management under the sponsorship of many prestigious organizations in the world. With constant efforts, the subject of MT&BTS has won many encouraging achievements such as certificates of merit from ministries and provinces for scientific and technological activities, many officers received the title of emulation soldier, many textbooks Lectures, many scientific articles have been published in prestigious domestic and foreign journals.
Infrastructure
The facilities of the subject include 1 working room and 3 modern equipped laboratories for teaching and scientific research. The department is involved in operating laboratories and research centers for freshwater fisheries at the Academy.
